Hi all, I've 2 questiosn to ask here:

1st, I'd heard that to improve performance sometimes, one
can clear up the 'prefetch' folder from time to time? Is
this true? Will doing it result in any system errors? How
to clear? Delete everything inside this folder? Speaking
of which, where is this folder located at anyway?

2nd, if I dun use the 'Search' function at all on my
system, can I turn off 'Allow...to index this
drive...for...' for my hard disk? Will it improve
performance greatly?

Thanx a many!

1. False....deleting prefetch files will actually slow your system
down until the files are rebuilt. XP automatically deletes old
prefetch files from time to time.

2. No....turning off Indexing has no noticeable affect on performance.

Clearing the prefetch folder is more likely to slow down rather than
improve the performance of your machine.
