When I try to use system restore with my new Presario
3000, I get the message - "Restoration was unsuccessful.
No changes have been made to your computer. System
Restore was unable to restore your computer to the
specified restore point. Select another restore point and
try to perform the restoration again."
What causes this???? I have been trying to fix this for
days - Microsoft Knowledge base and Compaq help line
couldn't help me with it.

Turn off/on System Restore to delete corrupted files:
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.
Click System Restore Settings on left side.
Check "Turn off System Restore", click OK, follow prompts and reboot.
This deletes all Restore Points including corruption.
Then go back and turn on system Restore and create a Restore Point.
