I put a new Adaptec USB2 PCI board into my Dell 8200. Before doing so,
I had reformatted my HDD and loaded XP Pro. Before SP2 was installed,
the USB2 board worked. After SP2 it no longer works.

I downloaded Adaptec's drivers, but it still will not work.

I cannot find a fix on the MS Knowledge Base.

Can you please help me?

Thanks,

Arjay

I would try removing the USB2 PCI Card. Go into Device Manager and
remove any trace of it there and Uninstall all the USB Controllers. Remove
the Adaptec Drivers. Restart a couple of times without it and then shutdown.
Reconnect the PCI Card and let WinXP reinstall it.

Thanks. I uninstalled all USB drivers, restarted, and it worked.
