We have XP Pro fully updated, 1 Gig RAM on a
2400+ processor, updated board BIOS.
After no problems for a year one has crept up.
I have been using Norton's Firewall in conjunction
with XP's built in. Now, for some reason the XP
connection is enabled but I cannot initiate the
firewall. Every time I check the box and click OK
after a few seconds a error message box pops up
with this message:" AN error occurred while Internet
Connection Sharing was being enabled. The dependency
service or group failed to start." All the boxes are
checked for MS Client etc.....I have removed and
reinstalled but still no go. I even did a repair
reinstallation but still no good. I did notice that
on our other computer (XP home) there is a box for
Internet connect but not on our XP Pro setup. Is this
normal? Any answers or suggestions would be appreciated.
