all programs/addb& remove

I have been using a program occasionally from an icon on
the start bar but this has now disappeared.
I can find the orgram on the add/remove program utility
but not on the programs menu.
It also appears on the windows explorer tree.
I cannot start it from any location.

Can someone please explain what is happenning?

We'd need a little more information in order to help you. What the
application that you are trying to run? You say it appears in the windows
explorer tree, is there an executable in the program directory that you can
double click on?

If nothing else, simply re-install the application.
