Hi, every one..... when I start using my computer I used to be the User and a
friend who did all the work for me; set as the administrator..... I asked him
for the admin. password and gave it to me.... I am the only one using the
computer, and wanted to have the control of it. Today I tried to erase the
administrator account at control panel/ users account; only that when I tried
to login as the user all I had at the desktop wasn't there; it only appears
the administrator stuff. Could I recover the user settings and everything I
had at the desktop? I just tried to set myself as the administrator......
help, please......

need more information which OS etc.....but still your earlier profile
will still be stored under "My Computers"-User profiles which you can
copy to the newly created user.

Hi,

Boot tapping the F8 key as the BIOS information goes by. At the
Windows Advanced Options menu select Safe Mode. On the welcome screen
select Administrator. This is the hidden Administrator account (not
intended for day to day use) and assuming a password was never
assigned to it click enter.
Account changes can be made from Control Panel, or:
From there go to Start - Run and type
control userpasswords2
then press enter. From there you can select any user account and Reset
Passwords, add/remove accounts or change account type. In your case,
you may have to create a new account and move any data files from the
old account to the new one.

Here are a couple of articles you may find necessary also.
