System Restore

System Restore has disappeared after performing a repair
install on Windows XP Professional

When right clicking the my computer icon to open the
system properties i get the following error:

"The procedure entry point
RemoteAssistancePrepareSystemRestore could not be located
in the dynamic link library WINSTA.dll"

I also get this error when attempting to run system
restore.

And the system restore tab is missing from the system
properties dialogue box.

I have checked that the system restore service is
running, and it is set to automatic and is running.
