messenger service popups

As far as i can see, the simplest thing to do for the
average home user, who has no need for the messenger
service, is simply to stop the service.

Control panel: administrative tools: Service

Double click the messenger service, and select 'Disabled'
from the dropdown menu three quarters of the way down the
messenger service window. Then click the button
labeled 'stop'. This will prevent you recieving any form
of messenger service alert.
This is something i've found beneficial to have disabled
for all home users, as very simply it insights paranoia
amongst less experianced users.
