View Full Version : File...Print and print icon do different things

I have Win XP Pro SP2, and a printer with duplexing capabilities.
In Settings>Printers and Faxes I set the printer default to duplex.
Every program I have prints in duplex when I click the printer
icon. That includes Word 2003 and Excel 2003. There's only one
exception: Access 2003. WhenI just click the printer icon it prints
to the right printer, but in simplex one side of the paper); if I
remember to do File>Print and simply click OK, it prints in duplex.
So obviously Access knows about my printer settings, but for some
reason it changes them when I just click the Printer icon. I've
posted in the Access group but no response. Can someone help?

Have you checked the URL (website) of the printer manufacturer for tech
support? They may have the answer there.

I'm no expert, but I did stay at
the Holiday Inn Express last night.

Thanks for responding.
Yes, I did, but I was unsurprised that they don't. This looks to me
like an Access problem. (It wasn't a total loss; there was some
unrelated but interesting information there.)
