Hi Folks

I had been getting an error when using office 2000 on an XP home machine.
Whenever I need to update , add to or do anything for office the installer
give the error "error 1324. the folder path [program files] contains an
invalid character." this then gives you a fatal error and unloads the
installer. Office is now stuck on my machine and I can't uninstall, repair
or even install a service pack. I had bee getting this error for a long time
now and KB has many articles on it but the fixes they mention wither don't
work or only apply to other operating systems. I had been hoping that a fix
would show up for this on XP but it looks like they've stopped posting fixes
for office2k as the latest date I see on the KB articles is late 2001. Can
anyone point me in the right direction? To me it looks like my next step is
to wipe the drive and re-install everything which is a shape because this is
the only problem on an otherwise trouble free machine
