My MS Win XP Home SP1 System Configuration Utility
(msconfig.exe) does not run when I click the link in "Help
& Support/Tools/SCU/Open SCU". I also tried to run
msconfig.exe directly in "start/run" but no luck.

The msconfig.exe file is ver. 5.1.2600.1106. I have the
same problem on two separate computers, each running
(naturally) its own original, store-bought,activated MS
Win XP Home. I am logged in as the administrator on both
machines. I must be doing something wrong, but what???

Thanks!

Hi, Brooke.

Maybe the msconfig.exe file got messed up somehow. Have you run the System
File Checker? At the Run prompt, type: sfc /scannow

SFC will compare each WinXP operating system file with "known good" copies
held in the on-disk cache and replace any missing or damaged ones. Have
your WinXP CD-ROM ready; SFC probably will want to see it.

But to have the same problem on two different computers is extra-strange!
