Cannot delete folder

Wierd thing going on with my box...

I had a folder that I tried to delete; got an error that the file could not
be found. Folder did exist....was empty but had a size of 40 bytes. I
tried booting in safe mode and deleteing it...no good....syas "Cannot find
the specified File".

The damn thing is stuck in my recycle bin and I cannot get rid of it. I
tried a restore to before the folder was created..folder is still in my
recycle bin. Nothing has allowed me to get rid of this folder that is
"stuck" in my recycle bin.

WinXp Pro SP1a
P4 1.3
768Gb RDRam


Can anyone please provide some insight into how I can get rid of this
folder?

I rebooted my computer and when I went back and tried to
delete the file it deleted without a problem.
