I purchased the Windows XP Pro several months ago and
have had nothing but problems. Each and every day I am on
the PC I spend much of my times sending error reports. Am
I the only one that suffers this. It seems that not much
is compatable with MS XP Pro. I have found now that my
media player (which can not be downgraded) will not play
a lot of things and has not played a lot of things since
day 1 and now it is telling me it is corrupted. Is there
any one out there that can explain to me why this is so
and what I can do to fix the problem other then throwing
a very high priced package out the (windows).

Did you ever think to take it back to where you bought it? Ever hear of a
warranty?

Why did Microsoft have your PC for repair? I didn't know they fixed PC's.

Did you check for compatibility (especially #3 Upgrade Advisor)
http://www.microsoft.com/WindowsXP/pro/howtobuy/upgrading/default.asp

Did you perform an upgrade or a Clean Installation?

Power off, open case and reseat all cards and cables.

Try removing/swapping memory sticks making sure to stay at or above
the 64mb Windows XP minimum.

Try a Clean Installation this way:
Disconnect all peripherals (camera, printer, scanner, etc)
Go to BIOS and set CDROM as boot device before hard drive.
Insert Windows XP CD and reboot.
At "Press any key to boot to CDROM" quickly press a key and follow the
prompts for a Clean installation:
http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxp_sg_clean.asp
Delete all partitions in step 5 if you desire to erase all data on the
hard drive.
Partitioning and formatting will be done automatically.
All data will be destroyed, back-up important data first.

If your computer was shipped with Windows XP, these procedures may or
may not apply.
Check your manual or contact the computer manufacturer for more
details.

This often happens to people who buy Windows XP to upgrade their
computer without doing the requisite homework on their hardware and
software. People who buy their computers with XP pre-installed have
fewer problems.
