100% CPU w/ explorer and iexplore

When I try to open iexplore and connect to the Internet,
iexplore.exe takes over 95% plus of cpu and locks up
machine. When I do a file search, explorer.exe does the
same thing. I spend 5 hours on the phone with a Microsoft
tech with no solution found. AND YET, I'm seeing somewhat
similar problems being described all over the Net.

Anybody discovered a real solution yet????
