My computer takes a long time to disconnect from the internet. What's wrong?

How are you disconnecting Are you diconnecting the modem?

I'm simply anwering 'yes' to the connection dialog, I then have to wait up
to 30 seconds before it actually disconnects.,

You probably have 'reporting' enabled on your software -or- you've
asked your browser to check and DL email before going off-line. Just
right click on the tray icon and disconnect to prevent 'reporting'
until you turn it off in the various programs..
