I recently repaired my Win XP several times. I went to windows update and
says it already detected SP2 on my machine however, it is not running. Is
there any way to revert to SP2?
I tried to uninstall via Add/Remove but it's not listed. What's going on??
Thanks

When you performed the repair install did you use your original Windows XP
CD or a Slip streamed Windows XP SP2 CD......
If you used your original Windows XP CD then you might like to create a Slip
streamed Windows XP SP2 CD and perform a repair install from that.
How to create a Slip streamed Windows XP SP2 CD

SP2 is not a program in the normal sense, so you won't see it "running".
However, some changes can be seen, eg Internet Explorer will have a popup
blocker.
Generally, if your computer says it has SP2, then you have it.

Matt,
To find out whether you still have SP2, do this: Start/Run/type "winver"
[leave off the quotation markers] and click "OK". Your Windows version will
display and the latest SP will be listed at the far right side.

And I tried the article already. I'll just reformat and load Linux on to it.
Thanks everyone :)
