View Full Version : Windows firewall in SP2
After upgraded to SP2, Windows firewall is added. Can someone advise how to
properly configure it.
Thanks,
Ray

Hi Ray,
Properly configure it for what? 99% of the time it is in the right
configuration as installed, additions or subtractions would only be needed
that are specific to software you are using (like opening a port for UDP or
TCP connections).

Windows Firewall was always there, it just wasn't enabled by default. In sp2
it is enabled by default.
No configuration should be necessary, unless perhaps you are unable to
connect to certain sites.
Since apparently you previously had no firewall enabled, I trust you have a
decent AV app?

Ray,
Don't bother the configuration for the firewall in SP2.
Hint:
Have you tested the reliability of windows firewall in SP2?
Try to perform a downloading by FTP and NOT to answer to the question of the
firewall. See whether the download will continue or stop???
