View Full Version : SSDP appears to be timing out... but on what?

Thanks for the help... I tried uninstalling the Q811493
patch but no luck. Sure seems like SSDP is timing out
looking for something.

If I disable the SSDP service only, then I get control
quickly after booting, but when I open Windows Explorer
and try to drill into any directories, I get
the "flashlight looking for stuff" icon, so it takes me
about the same amount of time.

If I disable both the SSDP and WIA services, then
everything starts up fine and I can open Word docs almost
immediately after I get the desktop up, although I still
can't use my PPPoE client for a little while (again,
seems more like a timeout going on).

Any other troubleshooting ideas or logs that would give
me a clue as to what's going on during this timeout
period?

Thanks,
John Q.
