Does anyone know how to back up XP to a CD-RW? It doesn't
initially recognize backing up to a CD-RW, but I know it
can be done.

Create the backup image to your Hard Drive, then burn the image to CD.
Can't be doen directly with the backup utility in WindowsXP

I have done this, but when I restore - XP can't read the
disk, sending message "disk contains unrecognised
media". Any ideas as to how to get the info back off the
disk??

Have you tried using ISO Buster?

Cathy: If you want only to back up your personal files, and not the
whole system, just use XP to copy those files.
For a complete system backup,
the problem isn't backing up to CD-RW, but restoring.
The product, Drive Image, from Power Quest:
http://www.powerquest.com/driveimage/
is made to make a bit-for-bit backup that is restorable as a whole or by
file/folder.
