An HP tech recommended system restore to an earlier date,
but I hesitate to do that. I use several system tools
regularly, but I don't ever remember seeing Backup
listed. Is there any other way to get the utility?

It is supplied with XP Home but not installed as standard. It is in the
bonus folder on your XP CD.

Thanks, but I don't have the CD ... XP came with the
Hewlett Packard PC. But I got an email from Carey who
told me where to go to download the program,
ntbackup.msi. www.onecomputerguy.com. It worked fine.
