MY COMPUTER DESK HAS A BOTTOM SHELF WITH A DOOR, THERE IS
AN 8IN. OPENING IN THE BACK,IS IT OK TO PUT MY MODEM, I
GUESS THAT WHAT ITS CALLED.(THE ONE THAT HAS THE CD
DRIVE ,AND THE ON BUTTON)DOWN THERE? PLEASE ANS. THANK YOU

You are referring to the computer.
The modem is a small card in the computer.

You do not want the computer completely enclosed.
You want at least a few inches clearance on both sides as well as the
top.
The back should be completely open, not just a few holes.
Keep the back opening the size of the computer to be safe.
Then you want the desk a few inches away from the wall so air can
freely circulate.
You should NEVER close the door with the computer powered on.
I would suggest removing the door to be safe.
Computer cabinets and desks are often designed by decorators and
furniture makers and do not always take into account the needs of the
electronic equipment.

Also, please do not use ALL CAPS in NEWSGROUPS.
ALL CAPS is considered shouting and rude.
