View Full Version : computer freezes up when trying to install ms sp2 or Norton Scan d

a couple of months ago, my computer started freezing up. happend about when
i was trying to install microsoft service pack 2. i had a dial up back then,
so i just thought it would go away when i got the downloaed sp2 with my now
dsl connection.
still having the same problems. the computer just freezes, then reboots. or
it doesn't reboot and i have to reset. i also get this problem when i try to
scan the hard drive using norton antivirus.
any suggestions? thanks

256mb ram
40gb hd
OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 1 Build 2600
Processor x86 Family 15 Model 1 Stepping 2 GenuineIntel ~1893 Mhz

Hi,

It is recommended that you perform a disk clean up, defragmentation of the
hard disk and complete virus scan to clean the computer before upgrading to
SP2.
