I have the same problem (reason I am looking here) ... but
perhaps my workaround may help you until your problem is
fixed. Namely, I find that most of the time my system
"freezes" I can "jolt it" into working by going to Start
then pressing Programs. Ctl-alt-delete also works, some of
the time. It seems that some aspect of Windows Explorer
(looking for a file list, etc.) often, but not always, is
the culprit. Also just found Microsoft Knowledge Base
Article 322205 thaat talked about "fixing" XP by putting in
the XP CD and choosing "fix."
