Hi

Is there any way to save the XP sp2 update to disk?

Plan would be, if I needed to, reinstall XP, install XP sp2 from my external
data/backup drive, go to windows update for minimal other updates.

Apologies if this a stupid question.

Thanks for any info.

You can order it from Microsoft for free (including shipping) at:

Perfect!

Thanks guys.

I've been lurking a while reading bits and bobs on this group, I've picked
up some excellent tips and fixes. I can honestly say it's one of the most
knowledgeable, friendly and patient. There are some true good guys out
there.

Thank you all.

After downloading SP2, you can then use this program to
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/System-Tweak/Autostreamer.shtml to create
a slip-streamed CD of Windows XP with SP2. The instructions for using
AutoStreamer to do this are here
http://www.simplyguides.net/guides/using_autostreamer/using_autostreamer.html.
It's simple to use.
