print job automatically deletes

Beginning all of a sudden, print jobs automatically delete themselves from
the print queue. When I click, "print" I get the appropriate dialog boxes,
then if I go to the queue, I see "printing" followed by "deleting" and the
print job goes away.

Is this a local or networked printer? Have you tried just the basic
uninstall/reinstall as per:
