Messenger missing

Messenger has dissappered and I cannot reinstall pc only 2 weeks old home
build genuine xp pro oem disk used.

Any suggestions I use messenger a lot.

I have a router with a firewall but it was working through that.

also I have lost sound on start up and shut down

Have you tried to re-download and install messenger? (Which messenger are
you talking about - MSN Messenger or Windows Messenger?)

5.1 windows messenger I think I will save data files to dvd rw tommrow when
blanks arrive and start again. totaly fresh install as I imprted old file etc
from old pc that got coprrupetd. suspect bad reg.

it was ok then stopped.
