Windows XP Lock UP/Shut Down

I have recently purchased on Sony computer with Windows
XP. When using Microsoft Office 2002, particularly
Outlook, an error message appears on the screen, more the
50% of the time, telling me that it has to shut Outlook
down due to some problem. Screen offers to send report
or not.

Anyone have any thoughts as this is not a problem I have
had with Windows 98?

Also, would an upgrade to Windows XP Professional help?

Open Microsoft Word and from the Toolbar select:
HELP > DETECT and REPAIR....

After the repair is completed, visit =
http://office.microsoft.com/ProductUpdates/default.aspx =20
and install all the available updates applicable to your Office program.
