Q817287: Critical Update problem

I noticed that a lot of people, me included, are having
problems with the Q817287 critical update in Windows XP.
I have tried a lot of ways to solve it, incluiding
deleting the instalation from the Register, but the
requirement to reinstall the update continue. So, if
there is some Microsoft guy reading this messeage,
please, please, please and please, correct this problem
from the instalation routine using Windows Update.

You haven't defined your problem. Can't install, can't download, already
installed, etc. etc. However go to MS site and read KB article 319109.
Maybe, and I'm guessing, that is your problem.
