I am having lots of problems with Windows XP proffesional
which freezes and does not respondent when I am in
Windows explorer or in Word or Excel or outlook and when
I press Control Alt Delete buttons after a while task
manager appears and the programme that I am using also
starts to respond as well. But before the task manager
appears it takes a while may be 2 to 3 minutes and I have
to press several times before it appears. This freeze
goes on continuing even after I have done clean up of the
disk and defragmantation of the disk which I have done
several times.
I do not know what to do exept to clean the disk
completely and reinstall Windows XP again. But this
implies that I have to reload all the programmes again
and many of the things I have on the disk will be lost
even if I do the back up.

Can some one help me as to how can I solve this problem
without wipping up the disk and re estalling again the
Windows XP.

In Windows 98 it was good that if we reinstall it would
reinstall on top of the exisiting windows and we would
not loose all the information on the computer but with
Windows XP proffesional it does not do the same. Or there
is way that can be done?
