Dear Sir/Madam,
Is there anyway under Windows XP to call the scheduler to shut down the
computer by specifying at say 3:00am to shut down? I try to use the power
saving but not working due to a program continuously accessing network.
Thanks in advance.

With Windows XP Pro there is the command shutdown.exe which can be called by
task scheduler to shutdown or restart your pc.
I believe that XP Home doesn't have this command as 'standard'.
If you have XP Pro open a Command Prompt and type
shutdown /?
for usage and syntax.
If you have XP Home and the shutdown command is not available then there's
plenty of third party utilities - PSTools freeware from
http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/pstools.shtml works ok.
