Howdy,

I'm trying to play a video game on my computer and i have a problem as you probly infered by the title of my post. The video game is Neverwinter nights and 5 minutes into the game and the music starts skipping in place and my computer freezes and i get a error report.
I've tryed installing the latest drivers and the required chip set for my mother board. I've also formated my computer because i thought it could be a virus. to say the least i havent been able to fix the problem. I was wondering if anyone else had the same problem? Oh and its not the game because its done this on several occations to other games. my video card is less then a year and a half old. Also the video games like 4 years old.

Oh, almost for got to tell you my video card is a Radeon 9800.

Well thanks in advance,

-Matthew

Did you also get the latest version of DirectX? And the latest drivers for
your soundcard?

What is the exact text of the error message?

Yes i do have the latest direct X. Um...i dont know if my sound card is a part of the problem because the sound stops simotaniously as the game. I could be wrong maybe its not the video card. I guess it wouldn't hurt to get the sound card drivers.

I couldn't tell you the message off of the top of my head. i'll have to run it again and get it.

As strange as it may seem, soundcard drivers can affect games. I had my
problem with LOTR-ROTK... everything (I thought) was up to date but the game
kept crashing. Turned out it was the drivers for my Audigy2.
