>You should run error checking (chkdsk.exe) first, right
click the hard drive, properties, tools tab. And run your
disk cleanup tool first also. And when defragmenter is
open, you need to click to select the main hard drive,
then you will see the analyse and defrag buttons. Also
close out and exit all open programs before running a
defrag, or boot into safe mode to run it.
