It sounds like in the process of reinstalling Windows,
Cookies were removed which contained access information
for Classmates.com. I have not used that site myself.
But here are my suggestions: (1) you might have had an
email message from them from the date you joined, with
enough information to reestablish your membership. If
you saved or printed that message, you could use that
info to get back in. If you use Outlook or Outlook
express, you could probably keep such stuff in a folder.
Or, if you are a real pack rat, you might still have the
old email messages in the inbox folder. (2) Send the
Classmates.com customer service folks an email, or call,
and ask them what to do. (3) A long shot: if there is a
backup of the system from before, and if you have the
tools to browse it and retrieve selected files, try to
restore the cookie from that has classmates as part of
the name, from one of the Temporary Internet Files
folders.
