System Hangs

I have tried...it appears to be gone....but the same
issues remain...with this, I tried to restore, and all of
my restore points are gone...lol...the one thing in common
for both of mine is me..lol..i have used the mircosoft
updates scan, and downloaded whatever it told me to(my
fault...stupidity is showing) and that includes a driver
update for my modem that just sent me crazy...i have
uninstalled my modem and reinstalled...but nothing
changes... One more question..i have read alot about
Nortons...what anit-virus do you recommend?? I am using
Norton's system works, on both pcs..
