View Full Version : Why is Q811493 back in automatic update? Its a horrible patch.

The last time I installed this patch, I had 8-10sec
delays opening My Computer and 3-5sec delays opening
programs (on a 2.8gig P4 with 512megs). You had wisely
moved it to recommended but I see its been moved back.
Up until this patch, I had trusted all Microsoft
updates. Please reconsider deployment of this patch, as
I will now have to remove it again from friends and
clients computers once again as they complain about their
systems running poorly. And until I teach them all to
uncheck it before letting automatic updates procede, this
will become a regular thing.

I am very dissappointed

Very simply because it is the NEW 811493. It replaces or corrects the
problems caused by the OLD 811493.

The latest security updates, 815021 and 811493 (revised), are safe
to install. I installed both and eXPerienced no adverse performance
issues. I would suggest disabling your antivirus program before
proceeding.
