I have a new computer with win XP pro. almost everything
is working perfectly but when i push "start"/"shut down"
the system hangs when "windows is shutting down" appears.
the only way to turn off the computer is to push the
on/off-button for 9 seconds. how do I fix this problem?

What do you have enabled in the bios ACPI or APM?
