View Full Version : disabling autoplay on C:\...

Hi,

I've a friend who unzipped an installation file to his C:\, and then began
installation from there. But the thing is, when he's done and start deleting
the unzipped files, he discovered the system will autoplay C:\ when he
enters it, and when he right click c:\, there's an "AutoPlay" option.

Any idea how to disable it? He's annoyed that Windows attempts looking for
the deleted autorun file, and telling him it can't be found.

Thanks

Hi,

Have him search for and delete the autorun.inf file that is on the root of
C.

I've asked him to try looking for it already, but he said the problem is he
couldn't even find the file, I believe he deleted most of the things
associated with the files he unzipped. Are there any other possibilities
running AutoPlay? Like in the registry or something?

Thanks.

Hi,

Like perhaps any .inf file on the root of C:\.

He really needs to break that habit - quickly.
