programs close by themselves

I'm having a problem with some programs closing themselves.
It happens mostly with windows oriented programs, such as
task manager and configuration utility. Also happens with
some games and anti-virus programs. The programs will
close by themselves, some almost as soon as I open them.
When I try to use task manager to see what programs are
running, it closes before I can even see what's running.
Any idea what could be causing this?

I'm willing to bet you've got a virus. It's recent trend in viruses to close
out of certain apps (e.g., taskmanager, msconfig, and A/V software). In
fact, I'm 100% sure you have a virus.

Try and do an online virus scan:

http://security.norton.com

I'll take a wild guess and say it's either Yaha or Klez.
