I have no sound at all and have gone through the trouble shooting guide but
no joy,
The C Media AC97 Audio Device.
The message i get is " This device cannot start Error Code 10"
I have uninstalled and then re-installed and nothing.
All was fine yesterday?
Any ideas welcomed.

Louise, did you uninstall from Device Manager? Rt click
MyComputer>select Properties>Hardware>Device Manager>Sound, Video and Game
Controllers>C Media AC97 Audio Device. rt click on and select Uninstall.
Restart and let WinXP reinstall it.

Louise;
go to the device manager, remove the audio devices that are listed. Shut
down the computer and then restart it. When it finds the C-Media Audio
device, insert the CD for it (that has the drivers on it) It should then
reinstall the drivers in the proper order. If you don't have the cd driver
disk for it, try downloading the drivers from the Manufacturers web site.
Code 10 usually means the drivers weren't installed or there is a problem
with them.
Please repost with your results from the above Advice.

Louise, did you try going into the Bios and make sure that the Audio
Device is enabled?
