By mistake I unzipped some Microsoft Flight Simulator texture files to my
desktop [from a safe site I have been using for years] instead of the
intended FS04 folder. I deleted the files and cleared the recycle bin, the
next time I turned on the system all the files were on the desktop again. I
restored the system back a few days before the files were unzipped, no luck,
the files reappear every time my computer is turned on. Any ideas would be
greatly appreciated.

Maybe the site is not as safe as you thought!... Install antispyware
programs, such behaviour is likely caused by spyware. To make sure,
install Adaware SE Personal and run it with 'Use custom scanning options'
clic on customize\clic on 'Select drives and folders to scan' and go to the
Desktop folder in your profile folder.

Or disable System Restore (control panel\system) and delete the files.

Also install these other antispyware programs:

Spybot Search & Destroy
SpywareBlaster
CWShredder

Delete the files, Uninstall Flight Sim and start over.
