Cheers,

I would like to know if there are specific tasks
or steps to replace a failing hard drive?

I have an older 60 GB hd that is only starting
1 out og 3 times and is getting worse, I have a
new drive but it's not obvious to me how to replace
everything... Is it as simple as

- blindly copy everything from c: to g:
- system g: (?)
- modify drive letters (I don't seem able to
modify c:?

restart (maybe switch the ide master/slave configuration?

The new hard drive may have a utility disk with it that contains a
disk copying utility. If not you should be able to download one from
the hard drive manufacturer's web site.

Other options for copying an entire drive include:
Norton Ghost from Symantec.
Drive Copy from PowerQuest
BootItNG from www.bootitng.com

Good luck
