Printing from XP1 to XP2\Printer1 works fine by using a standard
Windows shared printer. However, I need to use Tcpip Print Services for
Unix. So I turn on LPDSVC on XP2. I print a test page from XP2 to the
local Printer1 and it still works. I go back to XP1 and remove the
printer. I reinstall the printer this time creating a new LPR port to
XP2:Printer1. Install goes fine, no errors. I print a test page from
XP1 to XP2:Printer1 and it just hangs in the queue with status
Printing-Spooling forever. The strangest thing is, if I go back to XP2
and check the properties for Printer1 it now says it's installed using
the same LPR port that I configured on XP1!
Am I doing something wrong? I've never seen XP change the port for a
printer because it was changed on another computer. Is this normal? I
have 3 other XP boxes with the exact same printer (HP Laserjet 1022NW)
and they do the same thing.
Any help is hugely appreciated.
