cpu usage = 100%

NOT A VIRUS...MICROSPFT !

There is a known problem particularly if you have a
Laptop. Sometimes there is a problem with the battery
status and it causes exactly the symptoms you describe.
I know because I have it too. I can cure it temporarily
by starting the laptop on the battery and just as XP
starts up I plug in the power supply adapter. It works 4
out of 5 times. Microsoft may provide a fix in the next
SP (like with everything else) so I was told. If you got
it on a desktop then I have no idea what it is or how you
can fix it.

And what program is the process 'system32' associated with? System32.exe is
a VIRUS.
