Hi,
I wonder send a fax with voice prompt, you know, sometimes the fax machine
at remote side is in manual mode, they must give me a fax signal before
recieve the fax.
At that time, i hope my fax server can provide a voice tips, such as : "It's
abc company, could you give a fax signal?",
How can i do it ?
Sample program is more appreciated.
best regards.

You can do this by connecting a phone to the "Phone" jack on the modem (so
you have manual voice access to the telephone line) and
setting your modem to NOT wait for a dial tone.
You call the manual, operator controlled fax machine number with
the telephone.
You have your fax ready to send with a 1 or 2 digit FALSE phone
number. You then tell the Fax Machine operator to press his "Start"
button as soon as he hears your short, false phone number finish
dialing.
Your modem should "blind dial" the false number, the two modems
should begin their negotiation sequence, and finish the transmission.
This method is very similar to what you'd do with two Fax Machines
; the sending end would call the receiving end with the handset
attached to his Fax Machine, the receiving operator would answer
on his handset, and both ends press their "Start" buttons.

That's nicely lifted from Hal Hostetler's and Earl Parrish's posts. It
presumes the use of Microsoft Fax Services, which is not yet in evidence.

Hi, Duke
I think you give me a good idea, but, because the fax service will send a
lot of FAXs to customers, we deployed more than 3 telephone line to our fax
server, so , i think call to remote operator controlled fax machine manually
is not very convenience.
Could you give me some other suggestion?

Hi,
My previous post is from Hal Hostetler posted a year ago.
It worked well so far in my case.
Anyway remote operator controlled fax machine HAS its reason set in
the office or home whichever.
You have to ask your recipients WHY ? and prompt to set it auto-receive
FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE.
