I am working on a Dell computer with XP Home that ran fine for a year. Now
it says "pagefile too small" and runs VERY slow. The Pagefile.sys is set for
0MB.

I tried to reset the virtual memory , both with manual entries and letting
the system manage the size , but it is no help. It always returns to 0 MB of
Virtual.

I checked the permissions on the C: drive to be sure the "everyone"
"Administrators" and "System" all have full permission, and they do.

I have tried a Repair reinstall of the Operating system,

Any ideas on what to try next?

Be sure to click the SET button after making any changes, then Apply & OK

Jeff, highlight the drive, in the Drive (Volume Label) window, and click -
No Paging file, click set, apply and OK,
Then reboot.
After you reboot, go in again and highlight the drive, then click - let
system manage size, click set, apply and OK.
Then reboot again.
Sometimes you have to kickstart the program to make them work.
