CompUSA installed WindowsXP-Home (OEM version.) I
installed wirelss card and router from SMC. When
performance was unstisfactory, both were uninstalled and
returned.

Purchased Netgear router and cards. Router setup
reguires Ethernet cabling to computer amd cable modem for
setup. Computer will not recognize Ethernet card and
regardless of how many unitalls, continues to install SMC
cards and recognize it in dvice manager, although card is
gone. Registry inicates a number of "SMC" entries.

Formatted drive and reinstalled XP hoping to get a clean
registry and recognition of Ethernet card. Situation
remains as above.
