View Full Version : Windows XP does not recognize DVD disk

Since you were once able to watch DVD's you must once
have had a DVD player program installed.

Windows Media Player, or any other player for that
matter, needs to have the codec for DVD's installed in
order to watch DVD's. Windows doesn't come with that
codec. You need to install a DVD player such as PowerDVD
or WinDVD to install that codec. Windows Media Player
will use that file(s) for DVD viewing.
