Sounds like it is either a software incompatability, or a
driver in need of updating. If you recently istalled new
hardware try disconnecting it one by one to see if you can
pin point the issue. Check with your hardware manufacturer
for any updates or patches. Check with manufacturers of
your other components (sound card, video card, DVD
players) for driver updates. For any new software you may
have recently installed, check with the distributor's
website for patches and up dates also.

Doing a system restore may or may not do you some good. it
is always a good bet to try. However, often there are
files left over that still may cause incompatabilties.

If you've done all that it may be time for the system
recovery disk.

Also, it is a good thing to allow error reporting back
home to the mother nest (MS).
