Hello,
I am looking for drivers for LexMark Z515 and P122 that work with Win XP. These printers are on 2 separate machines.
The easiest question to answer would be:
I know P122 was not built to work with XP but was wondering if someone out there knows/has a patch that will make it work with XP??? The owner just loves this printer as it has served him faithfully for quite some time now and has a sentimental attachment to it. Plus he gets great deals from someone for the cartridges.
The harder one is:
The PC reboots everytime Z515 tries to print. It was working fine for the past few weeks since it was bought new. I believe the problems started after Windows XP Pro updated itself. I know for a fact that XP's SP2 updates like to screw up some drivers but was wondering if this is what happened here and if so, is there a fix. Further more, I believe its a driver conflict because the older Z25 works fine. I have uninstalled and re-installed the Z515 quite a few times, downloaded the "updated" Z510 drivers that LexMark issues for Z515, tried that, all to no avail. Even as the printer starts printing the test page, the PC reboots, and will keep rebooting as the printer job does not get deleted and Z515 tries to print the document everytime the PC boots. I then have to go into Safe Mode to uninstall it to get the PC back up and running.
LexMark Tech Support does not know anything other than the 2 words - Uninstall and Reinstall.
Does anyone here have any fixes/suggestions/ideas?
Thanks in advance,
VJ

Can't find any P122 driver for either Windows 2000 or XP, sorry.
Re the Z515, disconnect the printer from the PC and follow Bruce Sanderson's
instructions to how to completely blitz the Lexmark drivers... then reboot
and install.

If the PC still reboots on the print command, it would appear there is a
power problem with the USB port or LPT port to which it is connected. Does
the Event Log give any clues as to why the reboot occurred?
