Is there some way I can get updates to XP without
downloading them? I have a dial up modem and cannot keep
the connection to my server long enough to complete the
download.
I started downloading the Service Pack yesterday at 1:00
pm and the download popup window stated that some 38mb of
data would be transferred and it would take some 600
minutes. At 10:00 PM when I went to bed, some 24MB were
still to be downloaded and it would take some 400 minutes
to complete. When I got up today, the telephone
connection was terminated and according to the pop-up
window, this must have occured shortly after I went to
bed last night.
I logged back into the server and tried to resume the
download...now the pop up window stated that there were
some 73MB to download and it would take 1401 minutes.
Feeling something ws wrong here, I terminated the
download.
If I download all of the other updates MS offers, will
this reduce the number of files for the Service Pack?
Is there a way I can get all of these updates on a disk?
Can I do the downloads to a disk at our local library
(better connection) and install them on my home computer?
How do I contact MS to ask them these questions?
Thank you for your assistance.
